Feel the real "Rothaarsteig feeling" hikers on the wooded circular trail that begins in the picturesque Federal Gold Village of Latrop. Excursionists hike, following the red R of the Rothaarsteig, through the Lüttmeckesiepen towards Jagdhaus up to the ridge of the Rothaargebirge. Along the way lies the legendary "Millionenbank": Whether it was an old smuggler's path or the hiding place of valuable jewelry, no one can say today. The tour leads over the ridge to the junction "Zinseseck", from here follow the X23 back down to Latrop - one of the most beautiful villages in the Sauerland. There is also the Forest Workers Museum Alte Mühle - it houses a lovingly curated collection of old tools and documents.
