The 'Borstgras' hiking route starts at the hiking parking lot near the Frauenau drinking water dam. After a short ascent to the top of the dam, a rooty hiking trail first leads along the dam and past the Schachten log cabin to the Verlorener Schachten. Further on, you walk through moor meadows and wetlands, partly on boardwalks, until you reach the Almschachten and finally the Hochschachten.
