OL100 - Oberlausitz all around

The OL 100 combines not only the scenic and cultural highlights of the region on an unforgettable 620 km circular cycle route - it also connects the most famous themed cycle paths. This makes the route not only rich in extension and shortcut options, but primarily a celebration for demanding and culture-loving cycling holidaymakers. Hardly any cycling region in Germany combines so many highlights - pure variety in every direction! In the north, ice-age formations impress in the UNESCO Global Geopark Muskauer Faltenbogen as well as Europe's largest man-made water landscape - the Lausitz Lake District. In the south, the bizarre rock formations of the Zittau Mountains Nature Park or the gentle ridges of the Upper Lusatian mountain range with the Umgebinde houses leave a lasting impression. Two more UNESCO titles grace the wayside: the Oberlausitz Heath and Pond Landscape Biosphere Reserve and the Fürst-Pückler-Park Bad Muskau. Variety is provided by the cities of the Upper Lusatian Six-City League: the easternmost city in Germany Görlitz, also known as "Görliwood", the over 1,000-year-old German-Sorbian Bautzen, Zittau with its famous Lenten veils, Löbau with Europe's only cast-iron tower and Lessing's birthplace Kamenz. Enchanting gems complement the already rich range: Germany's oldest Cistercian nunnery St. Marienthal Ostritz, the oldest Simultaneous Church St. Petri Bautzen or Saxony's most beautiful country baroque complex Schloss Rammenau. For those who still find all of this too little, there are numerous opportunities for a detour, such as to the Polish Lubań or the Czech Liberec.
