Ralbitz-Rosenthal - Tour 2

The tour is a wonderfully extensive hike through the heathland in the Sorbian settlement area. Deep pine forests and long shady forest paths offer plenty of time to recharge your batteries or simply switch off from everyday life.
The bilingual municipality of Ralbitz-Rosenthal is located in the heartland of Sorbian-speaking Lusatia. Many Sorbian traditions and customs are still lovingly preserved in the villages.
Rosenthal is home to a Marian pilgrimage site, which was looked after by Cistercians until 2007. Several pilgrimages take place on the pilgrimage meadow every year, including that of the diocese of Dresden-Meißen. The Rosenthal pilgrimage site is one of the five pilgrimage sites that have been part of the "Central European Pilgrimage Sites" association since 2000.
Long coniferous and mixed forests, well-surfaced paths and cozy resting places at the many ponds in the region make the lowland hikes around the village a relaxing experience.
