The starting point for this tour is the parking lot next to the St. Gallus parish church in Sigmarszell-Kirchdorf, which was consecrated in 1717. From there, the hike leads along the Leiblachtal hiking trail down to the river, which also forms the German-Austrian border along the entire course of the hike. Gravel banks and shallow water areas invite you to linger, play and picnic. The route then continues over the "Lochersteg" to Bad Diezlings in Austria. The world-famous writer Norbert Jacques wrote his novel "Dr. Mabuse, the Gambler" in the inn of the same name in 1920. A few meters further on, the Kneipp facility in Hörbranz invites you to cool off and enjoy the health benefits before the path leads to the "Diezlinger Teich" pond. This small natural gem was created by man and is home to a variety of animal and plant species. The route then leads back towards Sigmarszell-Kirchdorf via beautiful meadow paths with sweeping views, which you finally reach via the "Zellersteg", newly built in 2004, and a short climb.
