The Baerler Busch, the adjacent forest area around the Waldsee, and the green Halde Rheinpreußen together cover a total area of around 6.5 km², making them some of the largest forest areas on the left bank of the Lower Rhine. High above everything, the Geleucht sits atop the 102-meter-high Halde Rheinpreußen. From the walkable, artistically illuminated mining lamp, hikers can enjoy expansive views of the Ruhr area and the Lower Rhine. Well-signposted hiking trails, idyllic lakes nestled in the landscape, and a fresh mountain breeze with panoramic views make this circular hiking tour a unique experience.
