Panoramaweg Sankt Wendeler Land Etappe 2

The Sankt Wendeler Land panoramic trail offers pure enjoyment of the landscape and nature for almost 127 kilometers. Hikers experience a varied low mountain range landscape with a charming alternation of wooded hills and open cultural landscape and enjoy impressive viewpoints along the way.

The Panorama Trail is divided into 6 stages.

2nd stage (Oberkirchen - Bostalsee, approx. 24 km)

The starting point of this stage is the Weiselbergbad in Oberkirchen. The route leads slightly uphill to Freisen, in the direction of Wolfersweiler, over the 529 m high Falkenberg with wonderful views. We are right on the border with Rhineland-Palatinate. Passing the "airfield for model airplanes", you now reach Walhausen. A little off the path is the historic "Hinkelstein", a cult stone dating back to Celtic times and one of three in Saarland. The path leads past the Elzenberg mill. In the last few meters, you cross the Nahe, which is still very small, and after the Römerhof you come to the lake circuit of the Bostalsee. Follow this to the tourist information office and you will reach the end of the stage. Afterwards, you can cool off in the largest recreational lake in south-west Germany and end the day at the lido or on the lakeside promenade.
