Along the varied route, there are always wonderful views over the Fischbach valley. The Renaissance Lichtenberg Castle and the bulwark show themselves from their most beautiful sides. The challenging route offers plenty of variety.

Way description: The route starts and ends at the Odenwaldidyll campsite with its natural swimming pool. Above the parking lot, it follows field paths along the edge of the forest in the direction of the Groß-Bieberau/Niedernhausen country road. This is followed by the first short, steep ascent in the forest at Gaßnersberg. This is rewarded with the first view of the Fischbach valley with Niedernhausen and Lichtenberg. We cycle a short distance in the Gross-Bieberau district up to the Weinweg. At the junction to Wersau, the route first descends again to Niedernhausen, past meadows and fields with beautiful views. The route crosses Niedernhausen on three side roads and then heads back towards the forest.

On the right-hand side is a beautiful meadow valley, which has been maintained by the local NABU group in recent years. Passing the Jostkirchwiese meadow, the trail climbs back up to the wine trail to the Nonroder Höhe. Here you have wonderful views of both the Gersprenztal valley and the Fischbachtal valley.

At the 12 apostles, we turn right, then immediately left again onto the path to Meßbach with a view of Nonrod. At the refuge, the route branches off to the left up the meadow path to Schadkopf. Continue along the wine trail, follow the edge of the forest with a view of Meßbach and ride out through the forest to the Meßbach quarry. Pass the barrier and turn left towards the quarry lake. The path leads through Meßbach in the direction of the former "Rimdidim" nature lovers' house. This is followed by a slightly ascending path with a few hairpin bends.

Above the "Rimdidim", the route passes to the left to the edge of the forest above Steinau. After a short, beautiful descent, continue past the Gagernstein parking lot in Steinau to the so-called Zindenauer Schlösschen. We head towards Neunkirchen and are now in the Modautal district. Pass the waterworks, just before the refuge on the right-hand side, take the hairpin bends up to the right towards Neunkirchen. We now come to a crossroads with 4 forks onto the Modautal route. Take a sharp right downhill to Lützelbach. In Lützelbach, we cross the main road and head towards Wildweibchenstein. This is followed by a beautiful descent through Klein-Bieberau forest to Hottenbacher Hof. Pass the guest garden and follow the cobbled path towards Lichtenberg. At the edge of the forest, follow the snake path to the parking lot on the outskirts of Lichtenberg. Following the path at the edge of the forest, we return to our starting point.</p
