Wanderung zu den Heunensäulen

The hike begins at the St. Kilian whisky distillery at the entrance to Rüdenau on the hiking trail, which initially runs parallel to the road and is marked with a yellow square. After about 2 km, the trail continues at a crossroads on hiking trail no. 3. The hiking trail initially runs parallel to the Main valley through the forest. Views of the Main valley and Kleinheubach open up again and again. At the Springquelle hiking parking lot, trail no. 3 turns off to the right and leads along narrow paths to the mysterious Heunensäulen. Who carved the huge red sandstone columns out of the rock and why were they left lying in the forest? The mystery remains unsolved to this day. After the Heunensäulen, you cross the narrow, winding road and finally take the wide hiking trail no. 3 over the Gänsberg back towards Rüdenau, where the hiking trail at the edge of the forest leads back to the path with the yellow square. The trail runs parallel to the road back to the St. Kilian whisky distillery.
