CAMINO INCLUSO - Pilgerweg für ALLE

The CAMINO INCLUSO is the result of a student project at the Stephen Hawking School - a special education center for physical and motor development.

The pilgrimage trail leads from Bensheim-Auerbach into the Odenwald and over its mountain ranges to Heidelberg and is based on the Way of St. James. It leads over six stages of 11 - 15 km each and a total length of 84 km. As the Way of St. James between Darmstadt and Heidelberg is not historically documented, the CAMINO INCLUSO is an independent pilgrimage route and a feeder to the Palatinate and Baden Way of St. James

The route is marked throughout with the yellow pilgrim's bag. It was officially inaugurated in October 2021. There is an information board at the start of each stage. The individual stages and variants are described in detail on the trail website: www.camino-incluso.de and on komoot.

This pilgrimage trail is intended to be a trail FOR EVERYONE: This means not only different physical requirements, but also different requirements in terms of religion or spirituality. The focus is on being on the way, mastering the path together and the opportunity to have spiritual experiences. In nature, pilgrims encounter pre-Christian sacred forests and springs, vast meadows and vistas as well as the ice-age sea of rocks. In addition, Christian churches, the Auerbach synagogue, stumbling blocks, the Christian-Jewish peace memorial and a Buddhist monastery offer a place to rest and meditate.
