Short Description

The Himmelsscheibenradweg connects the archaeologically important sites.

Description

The cycle path is about 73 km long. It connects the site where the Nebra Sky Disk was found with the Sky Disk itself. It is exhibited in the State Museum of Prehistory in Halle (Saale), it was found on the Mittelberg in the Ziegelrodaer Forst.
Three kilometers from the site is the visitor center Arche Nebra. In addition to these archaeological sites, the cycle path leads through attractive landscapes, such as the "Mansfelder Seen" wine route, past the "Süßer See" and through the extensive Ziegelrodaer Forst.

Route:
Wangen (Unstrut Cycle Path) – Arche Nebra – Mittelberg – Hermannseck – Leimbach – Querfurt – Obhausen – Kuckenburg – Esperstedt – Schraplaus – Stedten – Röblingen am See – Aseleben – Rollsdorf – Langenbogen – Zappendorf – Bankendorf – Lieskau – Halle (Saale)

Attention: Due to construction work in Schraplau, there is a signposted detour on the section between Esperstedt and Stedten.

Extended Tour Description:
Since the construction of the cycle path on the L 172, the cycle route between Leimbach and the Ziegelroder Forst no longer runs through the Drift, but along the L 172. In good weather, the route through the Drift is, however, the better recommendation.
The Himmelsscheibenradweg is not yet fully developed.

Between Röblingen and Aseleben, the cycle route runs along the L 176. Avoidance is possible via the Amsdorf - Wansleben route.

In the Ziegelrodaer Forst (Hermannsec - Kleinwangen), the route is led on forest paths: Pay attention to the known forest-typical dangers!

Between Langenbogen and Rollsdorf, an unpaved field path, between Zappendorf and Langenbogen as well as Querfurt and Leimbach, partially unpaved field paths.
There is a good train connection between Röblingen am See and Halle, so you can also shorten your trip here.
The Himmelsscheibenradweg forms a connection between the Unstrut Cycle Path and the Saale - Harz Cycle Path.
