A large half-timbered house, even larger trees next to it, and vast fields and meadows around it - just like most children draw a farm, most farmsteads in the Artland region actually look like that. Almost all of them are worth a closer look because the half-timbering is incomparably ornate. Although each farmstead has its own design, almost everywhere you can discover the typical Artland dragons in the carvings and paintings.

Along the way, there are also three charming historical sites, all of which serve as starting points. The market square in front of the monastery gate in Bersenbrück is particularly suitable. The crowning conclusion of the circular tour could be a visit to the museum in the monastery. The exhibition on the history of the Cistercian abbey and the town was redesigned in 2018.

If you follow the route clockwise, you will reach shortly before Badbergen the Elting-Bußmeyer farmstead, a very typical example of Artland's half-timbered splendor - including a charming garden, cozy café, and farm shop. Not far away is the Artland Donkey Farm. Those who have reserved and booked in advance can enjoy a short ride or carriage ride with the lovable long-eared donkeys here. Just beyond Badbergen, another stop at the Bioland Honey Sweet beekeeping farm is worth it.

Cyclists soon reach Gehrde through the park-like cultural landscape and along the river Hase, an unusually magnificent village with typical Artland farmer houses. And for those looking for a sporty break from cycling just before the end of the tour, they can find it at Ferienhof Groneick: On the Pitch & Putt course, even beginners quickly experience success in this uncomplicated golf variant. The journey continues to Bersenbrück. There is still much to discover in the museum in the monastery.
