Butterfly and holly trail

6.8 km - 1:20 h | Starting point: Frörupsand gravel pit parking lot

From the parking lot, follow the signs for the butterfly trail to the left. You walk through a wonderfully light-flooded forest until you reach a tarred road. Turn right here and walk along the road for a while. With a bit of luck, a butterfly will accompany you on your hike. In a sharp left-hand bend, turn right onto a field path and you will reach "Schmidts Wiese". Here you can take a short break at an idyllic lake. You then continue through the forest, cross a wooden bridge and come to a road. Cross this and take the forest path opposite. You are now walking on the holly path. On your hike through the forest, turn right at a fork in the path to the sheepfold. If you feel like it, take a short detour here. Otherwise, continue straight ahead. Stay on the sandy path. A signpost shows you a short excursion to "Dora's cellar" - visit the bat roosts. Now you pass the Budschimoor - an impressive moor and heathland landscape. Turn left at the scouts and return to the tarred road. Now follow the signs for the butterfly trail again. After a small ascent, you can enjoy the view over the primeval valley of the Ihlseestrom lowlands from a viewing platform.
