Goldsteig S 21 Schrottenbaummühle – Ruderting

The Schrottenbaummühle is a popular destination for day-trippers - beautifully situated in the middle of the Ilz valley. From here, the hiker reaches Kalteneck via Aumühle, Fürsteneck (short detour to the Wolfsteiner Ohe, which flows into the Ilz here) - (almost) always directly along the Ilz. Shortly before Kalteneck, the forest opens up - a meadow path leads into the village - only to pick up the hiker again shortly afterwards on his way to Fischhaus. There is a designated bathing area in front of the village and a pizzeria at the level crossing. From Fischhaus, there are two routes to the stage destination: One includes the old open quarry with information boards and the climbing garden, while the other leads along the Ge(h)schichtenweg from Fischhaus to Ruderting. This stage location is about 2 km off the Goldsteig. Caution: The turn-off at Fischhaus can easily be missed!
