The starting point of the Chambtal cycle route is the 1000-year-old district town of Cham. Via Arnschwang, Furth im Wald and Eschlkam to the border crossing to Bohemia, the route runs almost without gradients and traffic on mostly asphalted cycle paths through the Cham-Further depression, a natural area particularly steeped in history. The route follows the course of an old trade route on which flints were transported from the Kelheim and Abensberg area to Bohemia a thousand years ago, known as the "Feiersteinstraße". The Chambtal cycle route to Furth im Wald is part of the Munich-Regensburg-Pilsen-Prague long-distance cycle route.
