Kaitersberg-Arber-Hochtour

One of the most beautiful tours in the Bavarian Forest: strenuous but very beautiful mountain hike from the valley of the Weißer Regen to the Kaitersberg (ascent to the Kreuzfelsen 580 meters in altitude). The hike along the ridge trail with magnificent views of Zellertal and Lamer Winkel is one of the most beautiful mountain hikes in the Bavarian Forest. Via Kreuzfelsen, Mittagsstein (refreshments: Kötztinger Hütte, open all year round), Steinbühler Gesenke (alpine character) and the Rauchröhren (rock towers) to Riedelstein (Waldschmidt monument), from there descent to the mountain saddle of Eck (390 meters altitude) (refreshments: Berggasthof Eck). Mainly unsurfaced hiking trails and paths, rocky path on the Kaitersberg (sturdy footwear and surefootedness required). Between Mühlriegel and Heugstatt there is a difficult ridge path variant and a more comfortable forest path variant via Schareben. Via the Ödriegel, Schwarzeck, Enzian and Kleiner Arber (refreshments: Chamer Hütte) to the Großer Arber (refreshments: Arberschutzhaus).
