Goldsteig N 23 Hauzenberg – Passau

Before we leave Hauzenberg, the path takes us through the beautiful spa gardens. After that, however, it's time for some real hiking again. At the Danglmühle, the Goldsteig leaves Hauzenberg in the direction of Staffelbachtal. After a few ups and downs, the trail continues to the Kaindlmühle, where the Goldsteig changes from Staffelbachtal to the valley of the Erlau. Along an abandoned railroad line, the hiker now reaches the former paper mill in Schmölz and continues past the Eggersdorf ponds to the village of Eggersdorf. A beautiful, natural field and forest path leads from here to the Grafenmühle mill. The hiker then reaches Satzbach via a small hill. Finally, the districts of Zieglreut and Grubweg - then the long-distance destination, the three-river city of Passau, lies before the hiker - a wonderful finale: the view from the Veste Oberhaus down to the Danube, Inn and Ilz rivers and Passau Cathedral. It's done.
