Längseugenweg

From the starting point in Thierling, we take the gravel path towards Neuthierling. On this path, the Calvary with its Way of the Cross and chapel is on the left. At the next crossroads, we go straight over it. Passing two farms on the left, we come to Kühleiten. Here we turn right into the forest. The asphalt road, which we soon reach, leads us to Rauchenberg and Bartlberg. Here, the idyllic farms and pastures lie in a large clearing in the forest. After this clearing, we enter the forest for a longer period of time. The markings then point us to the right onto the path into the forest. After approx. 450 meters, we have the choice of taking the longer hiking trail via Neuhaus or via Tratthöhe straight back to Thierling. We opt for the longer option and take the Längseugenweg trail on the left, a beautiful, shady forest hiking trail with wonderful viewpoints along the way. We keep to the right at the forest crossing and then walk through the Thurn und Taxis Princely Forest past the Thierlinger and Röthelschlag to Neuhaus. Once there, take a detour to the left to reach the center of Neuhaus. Here you will find a children's playground and the "Rosenöd" chapel to the south-west of the hill. You should also take some time to visit the castle complex, where the Schorndorf amateur theater company puts on plays every year. You can also stop for refreshments at the AI Castello restaurant at the foot of the castle hill. After the sightseeing tour, you return from Neuhaus to the starting point in Thierling via the Thierlberg on an asphalt road with little traffic and great views.
