Steinmauernweg

From the village square in Grafenkirchen, we follow Jakobstraße in a northerly direction. We turn left into Bachstraße and leave it immediately after 140 m to the right. We pass a field cross with a bench and continue along the stream and then along the edge of the forest. There we can always take a seat on a bench and enjoy the surroundings. At the next turning, turn right onto the forest road and follow the markings along the forest path on the left. If you look carefully, you can discover a small carved shrine on a beech tree by a nature park signpost. We stay on the forest road for approx. 1.5 km. We then follow a forest path slightly uphill to the left for 220 m. We now turn right onto an easier forest path in the direction of Obernried. We follow the adjacent asphalt road until we reach a nature park signpost pointing us to the right. At this point, we also have the option of visiting Obernried (chapel and refreshment stop). The view of Cerchov, Hohenbogen and the Bavarian Forest mountains is breathtakingly beautiful on a clear day when we are on the adjoining field path. At the field cross, we keep to the right and shortly afterwards follow the meadow path towards Gemeindeberg. On an old forest path, which is partly lined with stone walls, we walk through the high forest to the edge of the forest, where we can again enjoy a beautiful view. Benches invite you to take a break. We return to the starting point on a gravel path to Grafenkirchen (refreshments available; opening times Tue, Fri, Sun).
