The tour connects the Fairtrade communities of Wolfratshausen and Seeshaupt and can be started either at the S-Bahn station in Wolfratshausen or at the train station in Seeshaupt. It leads south along cycle paths and remote villages along the picturesque Loisach-Isar Canal, to the shores of Lake Starnberg and up through forests and fields to Degerndorf and back to the Loisach Valley in Wolfratshausen.
The tour is 49 km long and is a tour to enjoy, both in terms of scenery and cuisine. Wonderful landscapes and a magnificent Alpine panorama reward the cyclist. Various refreshment stops and shops offer fair, organic and/or regional specialties. In the spirit of sustainable enjoyment, this is a very special tour for guests, locals and day-trippers.
Author's tip:
Visit the various culinary offerings along the cycle tour as a break and for refreshment. Please note the respective opening times.
Lake Starnberg is a tempting place to cool off, for example at the municipal parking lot in Seeshaupt next to the campsite at the end of the village, in St. Heinrich or on the shore of the Ambach recreation area.
Just before Degerndorf, the route leads along the Kastler art mile. Here, 19 sculptures by the sculptor Hans Kastler (1931-2016) can be admired along the way. The figure of the gorilla in the Alpine foothills is particularly impressive.
In Wolfratshausen, look out for the refill stations where you can fill up your water bottle with fresh tap water free of charge.

Trail description:
Fair trade on the trail
We, the steering group of the Fairtrade town of Wolfratshausen, would like to recommend a very special tour to you: The "fair, organic, regional" bike tour! This was created in the spirit of sustainable enjoyment in collaboration with the Fairtrade community of Seeshaupt and the "One World Regional Promoter for Upper Bavaria South".
The 49-kilometre excursion connects the Fairtrade communities of Wolfratshausen and Seeshaupt and leads along cycle paths and remote villages. First along the picturesque Loisach-Isar Canal southwards to the shores of Lake Starnberg, then up through forests and fields to Degerndorf and back into the Loisach Valley to Wolfratshausen.
Alternative places to stop for refreshments and shopping away from the mainstream make the tour something very special. There is, for example, the Wolfratshauser Weltladen. Like a small treasure trove of products from all over the world, it tempts you to browse. In addition to fairly traded coffee, tea and chocolate, you will find fairly produced and beautiful, handmade products made of glass, ceramics, paper, fabric and leather. One kilometer further on, you will pass the Ohnverpacktladen with its 150 unpackaged products, delicious cakes and organic coffee to go.
Culinary insider tips
Continue along the Loisach to the picturesque Pilchbauer farm store in Eurasburg, a real insider tip! The range of dairy products and baked goods consists exclusively of certified organic products from the farm or from the region.
Passing Beuerberg Monastery, the route now takes you uphill and downhill to the Fairtrade community of Seeshaupt. The wide range of stores with fair, organic and/or regional specialties invites you to take a longer breather. There is, for example, the sustainable organic coffee roastery "röstperle" and in the village center "Unsere Dorfwirtschaft", which invites you to enjoy modern, Bavarian soul food with many regional ingredients".
Would you like some ice cream for dessert? In our opinion, "Allora Signora" has the finest and most sustainable ice cream on the lake.
Feast, marvel, pedal
On the way back along the shores of Lake Starnberg, we head up through the forest and fields towards Degerndorf. This is where the Holzer family from Ludwehof run their farm store. A small self-service kiosk offers dairy products, baked goods and home-made seasonal produce.
With lots of new impressions and a full saddle bag, the route takes you steeply downhill via the village of Achmühle back into the Loisach Valley to Wolfratshausen. After this tour, you will certainly have sore muscles - but you won't have lost any weight!
The Wolfratshausen Fairtrade steering group wishes you lots of fun, a safe ride and bon appétit!
