Aubachgrund-Weg OS 21

The circular trail begins at the parking lot at the cemetery. At the northern end of Schauenstein, in Schützenstraße at the top of the road to Selbitz, the hiking trail leads out of town to the forest.

We follow Schützenstraße out of town and then briefly down the forest path, turn left and walk first along a path with a beautiful viewpoint to the Döbraberg, then back on the forest path, downhill towards the OG Schauenstein hiking home.

While you reach the hiking home after a few meters to the right, we turn sharp-angled to the left 100 m uphill and then turn right into a field path and walk through a beautifully landscaped field in a wide left turn along the slope, always moderately downhill, down into the ground and come to the road Schauenstein - Selbitz. On the way, we enjoy the beautiful view of the Aubachgrund and nearby Uschertsgrün with the Döbraberg in the background.

We walk along the road for about 50 m to the left, then turn right and cross the wide Selbitz valley over to Uschertsgrün together with other hiking trails. We follow the Webersteig markings for a very short time straight ahead along the road through the village, then turn left for a long way through the new development area, finally reaching a road. After the last house (in the opposite direction: turn left here!), we turn right and cross the Thronbach stream and its beautiful valley over to the forest.

We follow a pleasant, soft path uphill in the forest to a track, which we follow downhill in a varied landscape with views of the Fichtelgebirge mountains to the road to Baiergrün. Here we continue straight ahead to the Lehstenmühle mill, turn left there with other hiking trails over the listed Lehstenbrücke bridge and walk uphill through the town for a long time, past the watchful maiden in the park, the market square and the castle back to our starting point in Schauenstein.
