Der Sindelsdorfer Malerweg: Wo die Wiege des Blauen Reiter stand!

In Sindelsdorf, in the famous summerhouse where Franz Marc met with his friends, the artists' association "Der Blaue Reiter" was founded. Along the Sindelsdorf Painters' Trail, you will find places where the artists lived in the small village, where they found their motifs and where Franz Marc created his most important works, including "Blue Horse", "Red Deer", "Squatting in the Snow" and "The Enchanted Mill".

In total, the circular trail comprises 12 stations in the village and 3 outposts, which also include Franz Marc's former home, the "Niggl House" and the gazebo. In addition to the places where Marc painted, other stations also commemorate the other artists who lived in Sindelsdorf: Jean-Bloe Niestle, Heinrich Campendonk and Bernhard Stange. Haystacks - "Strahdrischen" - in the old tradition, just as Franz Marc once painted them almost 100 years ago, can also be seen again on a meadow at the southern exit of the village.
