From the monastery over the canal bridge, turn right along the canal, left at the next bridge through Tassilostraße and at the end turn right into Alleestraße over the railroad to the Ammer and follow this to St. Wolfgang, up to the main road and over the Ammer. From now on, follow the Prälatenroute long-distance cycle path on the road to Berghof and Ficht; cross the main road and into Habergasse. Shortly before the main road, turn right into Schulweg and Habergasse. Now turn right a few more meters, cross the road and you have reached St. Johann.
From the church in Peißenberg through the cemetery and on the access road to the north. At the Marian column from 1733, cross Ibblerstraße and Bachstraße through the railroad underpass, then turn left along the cycle path along the stream to the crossroads and follow Thalackerstraße until you finally turn left and follow the road uphill. The route continues past the small hamlet of Schweiber until we finally reach the chapel of St. Michael after a few hundred meters. From now on, a gigantic panorama will be a constant companion. Depending on the weather, the view extends as far as Lake Ammersee and Lake Starnberg.
From the Gothic church, continue to Oberbuchaum, but then turn left to Taigschuster. The path leads up to below a transmitter mast. From here you can already see the pilgrimage church of Hohenpeißenberg. At the end of this small road, turn left into a wider road that leads to the main road; now turn right up to the pilgrimage of Hohenpeißenberg, which has existed since 1525. It was looked after by the Augustinian canons of Rottenbuch until the abolition of the monastery. These canons then began to observe the weather, climate and stars (observatory) by order of the Elector. The Hohenpeißenberg is thus reminiscent of the Star Trail to Santiago. Star trail because this famous pilgrimage route to Santiago de Compostela may already have had a Celtic predecessor and people at that time followed constellations as signposts at certain times of the year. This brings us to an intermediate destination on the way to Santiago. Because this is where we meet the pilgrims from Munich.
