Frankenwald-Radltour 5. Etappe Steinwiesen - Bad Steben

Daily stage from Steinwiesen to Bad Steben  
 
Route: Steinwiesen – Geroldsgrün – Bobengrün – Thierbach – Bad Steben (Ü), 25 km.

Details of the route: Ride from the Aparthotel Frankenwald on the Kronacher Straße into town and follow the cycle path you came on yesterday towards Nordhalben.

When you reach the Biergarten, which lies below the Ködeltalsperre (largest drinking water reservoir in Bavaria) , follow the road towards Bad Steben for a short distance and then turn right towards Geroldsgrün.

Your route then takes you first on a flat stretch through the idyllic Langenautal valley and then uphill to Geroldsgrün. Follow the HO41 cycle path along Frankenwaldstraße until you reach Faber-Castell-Straße, keep right and cycle via Oberer Gerlas, Mittlerer Gerlas and Unterer Gerlas in the direction of Bobengrün.

In Bobengrün, take Horwagener Straüe left onto Christusgrüner Straüe as far as Dorfstraüe.

Later, the cycle path runs alongside the road towards Marxgrün.
However, turn left twice in Thierbach and then follow the route via Schafhof to Bad Steben.


From Bobengrüner Weg you come directly onto Nailaer Straße. Follow this road until you reach Schützenstraße and turn left there. Continue on this main road through the town until you see the Therme Bad Steben on the right-hand side. From here it is not far to the hotel you have booked.
