Route 08: König-Ludwig-Aktiv-Tour

The tour is around 16 kilometers long and starts directly at Feldafing station. From there, it heads out of the town towards Wieling. Be sure to make a detour up to the Calvary: The Way of the Cross there not only attracts visitors with 14 beautiful little stations and a crucifixion group, but also offers a fantastic view of Lake Starnberg and the mountain panorama in the distance. In addition to the maypole and the beautiful St. Sebastian village church from the 15th century, Aschering also has a playground and picnic benches by the idyllic stream. The Way of St. James also crosses here. The hike now leads along the König-Ludwig-Weg towards Machtlfing. Another tip for a stopover: the Spornritt moraine hill, a great viewpoint just after the turn-off to the Eßsee lake. In the pretty little village of Machtlfing, you can discover two churches - "Unsere Liebe Frau" and "St. Johann Baptist" - as well as another playground. Directly after leaving the village, you should not miss the burial mounds, which at 723m are the highest point in the entire district. You return to Feldafing via Traubing on tarred roads, gravel and forest paths.

Features of the route: Leads through typical Bavarian villages with maypoles, village churches and quaint places to stop for refreshments, past idyllic streams.

Route options: The route can be shortened at any time by taking routes 5 and 6 from Wieling (public transport bus 982), Aschering (public transport bus 982 or from the Pöckinger Weg hiking parking lot at the playground), Machtlfing (public transport bus 958) or Traubing (public transport bus 958) back to Feldafing station.
