If you travel in the spring, you will be accompanied during your walk by the trumpets' trumpets. By closing the many trenches in the Biesenthal basin, the impressive migratory birds will once again find enough wetlands to raise their young.

In the street "Am Heideberg" you meet the path (red bar) and follow this direction Lobetal / Mechesee on the Hellmühle. Along the edge of the forest, on the left, you have a good view of the lowland areas, where with a bit of luck the pairs of cranes can be observed while curling from March. Audible everywhere, they initiate spring with their calls and mark their territory.

After crossing the peacock stream, which is currently looking for a natural walk, take the Zweibrückenweg at the fork in the forest on the right. In the past year, excavators were still busy filling many of the channels and watering the surrounding wetlands. Cranes now find safe breeding grounds in the wet heath.

Once you have reached Hellmühle, continue on the left and follow the red bar towards Mechesee. Mixed forests with stately beech trees and the alder grooves adjacent to the Hellsee guide you along the way. The landscape takes meandering forms. Only about 2 km - then in the summer the Mechesee invites to swim.

From here, the Berlin-Usedom cycle path (green walking bar) takes you past mixed forests, rich flowering wet meadows and dry grasslands - back to the starting point.
