Kroppach-Taunus Mountains (short)

From Kroppach to the Taunus. This is the (short) version.

From Kroppach, we drive south towards Puderbach into the Taunus. The highest mountain in the Taunus is the Großer Feldberg, which has an elevation of 881.5 meters. Other high peaks include the Kleine Feldberg (825 m) and the Altkönig, which is 798 meters high. We drive over the Großer Feldberg to the ruins of Königstein Castle and then along the Altkönig towards Bad Marienberg, where the Fuchskauten, with an elevation of 656 meters, is located near the mountains. This is the highest mountain in the Westerwald. On the way, we also pass a beautiful watchtower near Bad Marienberg. Just a short distance more and we are back in Kroppach.

Attractions include the ruins of Königstein Castle in Königstein im Taunus, the Altkönig nature reserve, and of course the Großer Feldberg in the Taunus. The route runs along this path.
