The Banehaven was created by the town's citizens in 2013. It is a small oasis, which in 2015 was also turned into a Bike Pitstop, with air/water/hanging facilities for visitors.
In 2018, a playground with climbing equipment was built in connection with the Banehaven. The playground is made of natural materials and fits beautifully into the forest environment present at the site.
Today, you will find a lovely grill hut, and tables/benches both outside and inside. It is an ideal place to enjoy a packed lunch or a coffee basket. In addition, a pétanque court has been established in front of the grill hut towards Strandvejen, but you must bring your own balls.
In front of the Banehaven, you can see the winning sculpture from Varde Municipality's bike sculpture competition in 2015.
