The place is called Kapelhøj because there was a Catholic chapel or church here during the Middle Ages. The hill with the burial mound and the church site is protected, and at the site, remnants of a churchyard wall as well as a low rise with remnants of a boulder foundation can still be discerned. The place is described in www.fredninger.dk. On newer maps, the site is referred to as "Sejlstrup church," and on the so-called "shadow maps" (accurate laser measurements of the landscape), the outline of the small church building with an annex to the east can be seen.
