Sørup Mose

Description

Sørup Mose is part of an approximately 90 ha large bog area, which originally was larger and connected to the shallow Juelstrup Lake to the east. The stream Guldbækken has its source in the bog. Since there is drainage from both the lake and bog area, the bog is not a true raised bog, but a low bog with peat and plant growth that closely resembles that of a raised bog. The bog contains overgrown peat pits. By following the path that diverges from the trail at the bend and walking about a hundred meters into the thicket of self-seeded trees, one can see Bog-Myrtle, Wolf's Foot, and other fine plant growth.
