Parking lot: Drive from Sig on Karlsgårdevej, turn left after the small forest - 400 meters from the viaduct.
A path through the forest leads to the memorial stone. You can continue down the slope to the shelter area, where there are tables and benches. Here you can enjoy a fantastic view of the river.
The Holy Spring: There are many legends about the spring's healing powers. It is first mentioned in 1638 as St. Birrit's spring, probably named after an Irish national saint. In 1687, the spring is called St. Gertrude's spring - the sick and disabled were to be healed here again. St. Gertrude, a Frankish saint, was the protector of travelers. It was said that the spring was bottomless.
The spring is no longer visible, but has probably been used since the Iron Age.
