Just north of Abkær Mose, about 2.5 km southeast of Over Jerstal, lies a very nice and noteworthy collection of megalithic graves from the Stone Age, approximately 3,500-3,300 BC. On a quite small area, there are no less than 4 large passage graves, 1 chambered tomb, and 1 long barrow, which are stunning monuments to the construction techniques and burial customs of the Stone Age people. With lengths of 115 and 92 m, two of the passage graves are among the longest in Jutland. The long barrow was archaeologically investigated in 1966-67, during which particularly rich ceramic finds were discovered - no less than 109 sacrificed clay pots could be reconstructed! The site includes public parking and information signs.
