On our way to the North Cape, my ex-girlfriend and I cycled for a week through Denmark in June 2023. After a boring stretch through Germany, we thought it would only get spectacular in Norway, but Denmark surprised us. The quiet west coast reminded us of the Wadden Islands: nice gravel paths, inland lakes, wide sandy beaches, dunes, and patches of forest where you often don't encounter anyone.
