Mariager Fjord Route - Bike Route 32 (63 km round trip)

Experiences: The tour around Denmark's most beautiful fjord offers plenty of experiences along the way and opportunities for breaks and pauses.

The highlights include:

• UNESCO World Heritage Site Fyrkat ring fortress west of Hobro

South of Mariager Fjord from Hobro towards the east:

• Hobro Østerskov, where the woodpecker can be heard in the treetops
• Kongehøjen, a huge long barrow that you can crawl into!
• Katbjerg Odde is a small detour from the route itself, but is definitely worth the time and trip.
• Idyllic market town Mariager
• The industrial city of Dania right by the fjord
• Scenic Åmølle
• Hadsund South

North of Mariager Fjord from Hobro towards the east:

• Sildehagen - a beach and nature worth a pause!
• Bramslev Bakker is a small detour from the route, but you get the most beautiful view and the opportunity to rest on a Fjord bench.
• The burial mound Lundshøj with a view over Kielstrup Lake and the fjord
• Kielstrup Lake and Høllet, a beautiful natural gem with the possibility of a break
• Cozy village atmosphere in Stinesminde
• The connecting town Hadsund

A very varied and beautiful trip. Most of the route goes on bike paths and bike lanes, as well as less busy country roads, but there are also stretches with gravel paths and forest roads (about 8 km in total).

Alternatively, one can follow the bike path that follows the main roads all the way around the fjord and thus stay on the asphalt. See the picture for a sense of the bike path around the fjord.

NOTE! Remember to look up. There are the most beautiful views all along the way on the trip.
