The Vibysløjfen

From Viby Station, it is natural to roll down Søndergade. At the end, you meet a beautiful avenue to Egesagergaard, but we turn right and swing from the "big city" to the well-preserved village of Birkede and further out into rural surroundings to the south.

Klosterskoven has a dolmen in a clearing just inside the forest. It is one of those places that the Swedes call smultronställe - a somewhat secret idyllic place where you can rest on a trip.

The journey continues past Fru Hansens Have and Truelstrup with some large farms. Further over Hønske, which is actually a vanished village that was shut down in connection with the establishment of the manor Risbyholm. There is a fine bike path to Ørsted, from where the ascent of Ryebakke begins - the municipality's highest natural point - 58 m with a wide view over large parts of Midtsjælland, but no real resting place.

Ramsølille is passed before Gadstrup, where you can instead rest by the beautiful Svanesø - and possibly stock up.

Here you turn towards Brordrup and Ramsøgårde, where Cycle Route 85 can lead us back via Øster Syv. Park the bike and climb the prominent Bavnehøj. Information board on site.

If you think 20 km is too little, you can extend the loop by 9 km by heading east after Ryebakke over Havdrup and Gammel Havdrup to Snoldelev Hastrup and back to Gadstrup over Snoldelev. Before Snoldelev, you can walk down to Snoldelev Mose, where human sacrifices are believed to have taken place. In any case, many human skulls have been found here.
