Cycling: The Bagenkop Route

From Bagenkop, cycle south. Make a stop at the Hulbjerg burial chamber and crawl into the grave chamber, where time has stood still for the last 5000 years. Dovns Klint is the remnants of a hat-shaped hill. Take a walk along the beach with the many rolling stones and also see the beech forest Østre Gulstav right by the cliff.

The trip now goes north, and you pass the hat hill Fakkebjerg (37 m.) which is a prime observation point when wanting to study migratory birds. You may want to visit Langelandsfortet when you drive north. Before returning to Bagenkop, make a stop at Klise Nor, where there is an opportunity to take a closer look at the wild Exmoor ponies. The horses are outside all year round and find their own food. The Exmoor pony resembles the wild horses that lived in Denmark 5000 years ago – back when the stones for Hulbjerg Burial Chamber were raised.
