Route R30: Along the Gudenå River from Randers to Gl. Rye

Regional Route 30 follows the Gudenå Valley from Randers through the Søhøjland to the south of Gl. Rye. Here you can possibly continue all the way to the spring in Tinnet Krat via Regional Route 33.

Regional Route 30 follows smaller country roads, and you can sense how the large water masses formed the valley at the end of the last ice age.

The route starts - or ends - at Randers Rainforest and continues along the edge of the valley to Langå and further to Bjerringbro. You pass among other things Ørum Church, from where there is a beautiful view over the valley. Along the route, you pass the Energy Museum, Tange Lake, Grønbæk Church with beautiful Romanesque frescoes, the old barge tavern Svostrup Kro, Silkeborg, the Søhøjland, and Øm Monastery.
