Around Vallø Castle, 15 km

Køge Municipality, in collaboration with Visit Køge and Knud Nielsen from the Danish Cyclists' Federation, has created proposals for 8 bike rides. The tour proposals vary in length - from 9 km to 45 km and are located in different parts of the municipality, all starting from Køge Torv.

4. Around Vallø Castle, 15 km. On this bike ride, you will experience: Billesborg – Vallø Castle – Odden/Tryggevælde Å.

The Manor Billesborg, formerly known as Egøjegård, is a manor house from the Middle Ages. Since the 19th century, Billesborg has served as a farm under Vallø Stift. Today, Billesborgskolen uses the main building.

The road to Vallø Castle is a long linden tree avenue, from which you have a beautiful view over Køge Bay.

Vallø Castle has a history that stretches back to the mid-1500s. Since the mid-1700s, the castle has been home to several of the ladies inscribed in Vallø Stift. The castle park, which covers 15 ha, is designed in the English landscape style with large lawns and many groups of old trees.

Odden, an open beach area. In 1917, the establishment of a sluice out towards Køge Bay began. This altered the course of the Tryggevælde Å, and the area as it looks today has partly been created by this change. The lopped poplars show where the old bridge was originally located. The area is popular with both anglers and plant enthusiasts. The moist soil provides good conditions for, among others, the plants angelica, yellow rattle, nodding thistle, rough meadow grass, and field pinks.
