Meeting of contrasts – new and old, 25 km

Køge Municipality has, in collaboration with Visit Køge and Knud Nielsen from the Danish Cyclists' Federation, proposed 8 cycling routes. The routes vary in length - from 9 km to 45 km - and are located in different parts of the municipality, all starting from Køge Torv.

5. The Meeting of Contrasts – new and old, 25 km. This cycling trip features, among other things: Åshøj – Påskebjerget – Future Parcel Houses – Tinggården – Billesborg.

Åshøj, a charming old village, is an example of a star-exchanged village. This means that each farm has direct access to its own fields. Previously, the lands could be located elsewhere, but during the restructuring associated with the land reform in the 19th century, the farmers consolidated their land into one cohesive field.

Påskebjerget, between Herfølge and Åshøj, is the last remnant of a heavily winding ridge, as the upper part has been excavated for sand.

Future Parcel Houses in Herfølge, where all houses are built with strict requirements for energy consumption and environmental considerations.

Tinggården in Herfølge, a residential area that became the prototype for the dense-low building style of the 80s, providing space for community and homes along the alleys.

The Manor Billesborg, formerly known as Egøjegård – is a manor from the Middle Ages. Billesborg has been a farm under Vallø Stift since the 19th century. Today, Billesborg School utilizes the main building.
