East Coast Route - National Cycle Route 5 - The stretch in Kolding Municipality

Are you ready for a long and varied route that gathers most of the experiences that make Denmark so fantastic to cycle around? The Jutland east coast features scenic fjords, peaceful bays, and open waters, but without the harsh winds of the North Sea. Some of the stages are delightfully hilly, and you can immerse yourself in the culture of the large market towns along the east coast of Jutland.
Stage 7: It is about 14 km from Vejle to Jelling and the monuments that are UNESCO World Heritage sites. In Kolding, the over 750-year-old castle is an absolute must, and the Trapholt Art Museum exhibits both visual art, crafts, design, and furniture design. Fredericia is part of the Lillebælt Nature Park – a marine nature park where you can be quite sure to see porpoises.
Stage 8: Skamlingsbanken is Southern Jutland's highest point – at the top, you are 113 meters above sea level, and the view is magnificent. In the middle of Haderslev lies the city's impressive cathedral, for which Queen Margrethe has designed altar textiles. The Brethren's town Christiansfeld is a UNESCO World Heritage site: It was founded in 1773, and the buildings stand as they did then.
