The Jyllinge loop

From the harbor in Jyllinge, the Fjord Path (Cycle Route 40) follows with a fantastic view of the fjord and Eskilsø. The Fjord Path follows Oddestenvej past Stængelsehøj out to Frederiksborgvej, which is crossed in the pathway tunnel. The landscape is characterized by several burial mounds that testify to life and death many thousands of years ago in these parts. Cycle past the mounds Hødysse and Grydehøj down towards Tågerup.
Then you turn up to Kirkerup, whose church has fine and lively frescoes from the 12th century. The church is normally open from 8 AM to 4 PM. Next, there will be an opportunity to study birdlife at Gundsømagle Lake with East Denmark's largest reed forest and its associated ducks.
There is a total of 60 hectares of lake and 240 hectares of reed forest, which together with nearby marshes constitute a large natural area.
