The runestones from the late 9th century and early 10th century are the first historical sources where we can get a written impression of our ancestors' deeds. In Randers Municipality alone, there are around 350 visible and protected ancient remains, primarily burial mounds and stone dolmens from the Stone Age, as well as a large number of burial mounds from the Bronze Age. From historical times, it concerns – besides the runestones – sites such as fortifications from the Middle Ages and old churchyards. This tour, which starts and ends in Hvidsten, takes you past some of the most exciting ancient remains in the area north of Randers.
