The little short, 9 km

Køge Municipality has in collaboration with Visit Køge and Knud Nielsen from the Danish Cyclists' Federation created proposals for 8 bike tours. The tour proposals vary in length - from 9 km to 45 km and they are located in different parts of the municipality. All tours start from Køge Torv.

1. The small short, 9 km. On this bike tour, you will experience: Vasebækgård - Åshøj - Hastrupsøerne.

Vasebækgård, a large old farm owned by the manor Gammelkjøgegaard.

Åshøj, a cozy old village that is an example of a star-shaped village. This means that each farm has direct access to its own fields. Previously, the lands could be located elsewhere, but with the restructuring in connection with the agricultural reform in the 19th century, the farmers gathered their land into one coherent field. Previously, the common space by the village pond was used for livestock. Today, you can still sense this space. The village also has a well-preserved thatched-roof three-winged farm from the late 17th century.

Hastrupsøerne, 2 artificial lakes that get their "water supply" from Ellebækken - a dammed brook coming from the west. The upper/western lake is reserved for birdlife. Here, birds can breed and live in peace and quiet. The lower/eastern lake is designed for recreational purposes. The lakes are separated by a bridge.
