Idyllic villages, 25 km

Køge Municipality has, in collaboration with Visit Køge and Knud Nielsen from the Danish Cyclists' Federation, created proposals for 8 bike routes. The route suggestions vary in length - from 9 km to 45 km - and are located in different parts of the municipality, all starting from Køge Torv.

7. Idyllic Villages, 25 km. On this bike tour you will experience: Gammelkjøgegaard – Vasebækgård – Åshøj – idyllic villages - Fruedal Waterworks – Turebyholm – Vallø Storskov.

Gammelkjøgegaard has a rhododendron park with public access.

Vasebækgård, a large old farm owned by Gammelkjøgegaard.

Åshøj, a cozy old village, is an example of a star-exchanged village. This means that each farm has direct access to its own fields. Previously, the fields could be located elsewhere, but during the restructuring related to the land reform in the 19th century, the farmers consolidated their land into one contiguous field.

Idyllic villages and landscapes include Svansbjerg, Ringsbjerg, Algestrup, and Tureby.

Fruedal Waterworks, is located just before Algestrup. The waterworks were built from 1987 to 1989 and designed by Krüger A/S. The architecture is integrated into its location near fields and forest.

Turebyholm Main Building, a well-preserved rococo building from 1754, designed by architect Nicolai Eigtved and originally built for Frederik V's court marshal Adam Gottlob Moltke.

Vallø Storskov is a significant stretch of forest with a clayey and flat soil. Beech is the main tree species.
