Full-day trip to Helnæs

This route shows you the best of Helnæs, which is a spectacular peninsula near Assens. The route is set out from Assens, so you will also pass by other lovely places such as Torø Huse, Saltofte, Sønderby Klint as well as Gl. Brydegaard and Gl. Avernæs, before you reach the famous dike, where you cycle with the sea on both sides. A must-see in Funen!
You start by riding out of Assens (1) and past Torø Huse (2), another peninsula. Here, there was once a fishing village, and now it is a lovely place to take a walk via the trail systems.
You continue down towards Saltofte (3), where you will often have excellent views of the Little Belt. Continue past Sønderby Klint (4), which towers at 30 meters. Get off your bike and take a rest, if you like.
The next stop is the mill at Slots Allé (5). And at Gl. Brydegaard (6) and Gl. Avernæs (7), there are opportunities for good food. Remember to check the opening hours.
You will reach Helnæs (8) next. Enjoy the view, breathe in the sea air, settle down, and relax. Don't forget to cycle past the lighthouse (9). We recommend cycling around the sometimes hilly landscape, and perhaps getting a little lost. You will surely find your way back again.
