Lilleå route 43 km

Follow the Lilleå from its source to its mouth in the Gudenå. The path runs along the nearby roads. Lilleå (also Hadsten Lilleå) is a watercourse that constitutes one of the larger tributaries to the Gudenå. It has its source in two streams, one between Sabro and Lading, below Borum Eshøj, and the other in the meadows between Sabro and Søften, northwest of Aarhus. The river is 37 kilometers long and drains an area of over 300 km². The two source streams merge south of Nørreris Skov, between the manor Ristrup and Søften. Lilleå follows the railway north through Hinnerup and Hadsten. The river gradually turns more northwest. Just before Lerbjerg, it receives the stream Vissing Bæk from the north, and just before the manor Bidstrup, Voermølle Å comes in from the south. Immediately after the manor, and also from the south, Granslev Å flows in before Lilleå continues, still along the railway, to Laurbjerg, where it again turns northward to flow into the Gudenå at Langå, just east of the main farm Østergård. Lilleå has a larger population of sea trout.
