Nightingale Track

As the name suggests, the Nightingale Trail leads past willow thickets where nightingales breed. With great probability, you can hear this little gray bird's fantastic song in May-June. The best time is late evening hours and early morning hours. The trail goes over small marshes, meadows, and enclosures with grazing animals. The trip offers a really nice view of the chalk cliffs at Storbjerg, the mighty terrain at Skindbjerg, and the nearby islets. On cool summer mornings, you can sometimes experience a beautiful natural phenomenon when dense fog blankets the meadows of the river valley, and the landscape outside the valley rises above the fog. The majority of the path is a marked trail, which can be muddy in wet weather. Several plank bridges over ditches and a number of flap gates are crossed along the way. The trip is not suitable for those with mobility impairments.
