Ugerløse Grass Field - Bjerge South Beach

The path runs along excellent sandy beaches, where there are no large waves or "horse holes" to worry about. In most places, there is a gently sloping sandy bottom, and at low tide, small sand islands are formed near the beach. After Bjerge Nordstrand, Bjerge Klint begins, from which there are good opportunities to catch fish for dinner. At Bjerge Klint, you can see the amazing flight of the sand martins in the air and by the nesting holes.

Svallerup Strand

At Svallerup Strand lies the wetland Holmen, where many birds can be seen and heard. Even the nightingale is here, and wild plants also grow among willow and reed thickets.

Svallerup Church

Svallerup Church is remarkable with its Tiendelade, located just east of the church. Here, in the old days, farmers had to deliver their church tax in the form of eggs, grain, and so on. The barn was protected in 1913.

Regnarshøj

Regnarshøj is 55 m above sea level. It is a well-preserved passage grave that can be entered. It was built as a burial site around 3000 BC and was used during World War II as a temporary hiding place for people fleeing from the German occupying power. From the barrow, there is a nice view and next to the barrow, there are tables and benches.

Bjerge Sydstrand

Bjerge Sydstrand is a child-friendly sandy beach with shallow water. In the middle of the area, the Sugar Canal flows out. It acts as an extra outlet when there is extra water pressure on Halleby Å, which has good fishing waters. Fishing permits for the river can be purchased at Kviksport in Gørlev. Fishing in the Sugar Canal is entirely free. There is a disability-friendly path along the canal. Halleby Å is part of the Nature Park Åmosen/Tissø (brochures can be obtained at the Gørlev Tourist Office). In the southern part of Bjerge Sydstrand, a beach volleyball court and playground have been established - 100 m from the coast.
