Around 1960, Gandrup Brickworks began to extract clay in the area now known as Teglværkssøerne. After the excavation was completed, the old clay pits now appear as beautiful, man-made lakes. The area offers many recreational opportunities, an exciting bird and animal life, and a varied plant growth.
There are shelter spots by Teglværkssøerne and fishing is allowed in the lakes. Several table/bench sets have been installed.
