Through Illeris and Lodhøj Plantation, the old connecting road winds between Hvalpsund, Alstrup, and Gedsted. The road used to serve as a church road to Alstrup and, in slightly more modern times, as a milk route from the surrounding farms to the dairy in Hvalpsund.
